GREENS
MEET OUR
OUR GREEN MISSION
Our mission is to teach high-school students about environmental sustainability and how to make sustainable choices and decisions. Reducing our environmental impact, improving our health and wellness, and providing quality environmental education are our three major goals in Greens Club. As a 2022 USDOE Green Ribbon School, Magnet High prides ourselves on our sustainable choices, environment education, and the inspiration of others to make more "green" decisions.

OUR CLUB SPONSORS
Caddo Magnet's Greens Club was founded in the 1990s by retired biology teacher Mrs. Ruby Blackwell. For three decades, Mrs. Blackwell led Greens Club, encouraging students to explore, observe, enjoy, protect the outside. She took students to Sci-Port, Walter B. Jacobs, and more. She and the students partnered with Shreveport Green to begin recycling on our campus. Retired biology and environmental science teacher Mrs. Patty Stallcup also helped Mrs. Blackwell.
Our current sponsor, Mrs. Dionne Procell-Brown - Caddo Magnet High c/o '95, joined Greens Club as a co-sponsor with Mrs. Blackwell and Mrs. Stallcup in 2014. Mrs. Procell teaches AP Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, and AP World History at Caddo Magnet High. She is passionate about making our campus and community more biodiverse and pollinator-friendly. As a grateful Magnet grad, she loves giving back to our special campus and encouraging others to do the same.
